Adult Assessments.

Individuals seek psychological assessment for a range of reasons. Some access assessment for the purpose of diagnosis, financial, or legal matters. Others choose to use assessments as a way of reflecting and exploring their personal strengths and areas of improvement.

Your Rethink Psychology assessment may fit into one of the following categories:

  • DSM-5 diagnostic assessments (for NDIS and other purposes).

  • Cognitive assessments to investigate intellectual impairment and giftedness.

  • Executive functioning and ADHD assessments.

  • Academic and vocational assessments.

  • Parenting capacity assessments and psychosocial assessments for Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women.

  • NDIS assessments to identify Behaviour Support funding needs and therapy needs.

What to expect during the assessment process?

It can be overwhelming to decide on which assessment you need and what to expect ahead. Discussing your needs with your psychologist and understanding the assessment process can help ease those concerns.

  • Information about the presenting problems and contributing factors will be collected through interviews, observations, and reading of relevant documents.
